Welcome to Homestay Trivandrum

This southernmost district of Kerala has it all – scenic landscapes, hill stations, beaches, trekking routes, theme parks, waterfalls, wildlife sanctuaries…. And being the capital of the state it has many political and historical buildings and monuments. The place has many attractive places of tourist importance, too.

To the north of the district of Trivandrum is Kollam and to its east, the state of Tamil Nadu. Kanyakumari is only about an hour and a half away. Steeped in history, Trivandrum is a tourist’s delight. There’s a lot to see and do around here.

Hotels and homestays here will be glad to arrange short trips and tours for you. The Kovalam and Shankumugham beach are must-see places. The Vizhinjam harbour nearby is one of India’s deepest. The three ports are full of activity in the early morning. Boats that return with fish and seafood will be calling out to buyers. You’ll get a glimpse of what a market looks like, over here.

The city of Trivandrum has many ancient palaces, forts, antique
galleries and museums. The famed Annual Flower Show is held in the Kannakakunnu Palace. There are also food festivals that go with it. The famed Trivandrum Zoo shouldn’t be missed. And another interesting sight you’ll see in different parts of the city is the mini models of aircraft, especially jets that are exhibited near the roads, in the military offices section of the city.

The accommodation ranges from homestays, resorts, luxurious beach stays and treetop accommodation to budget hotels, mountain camps and others. Ponmudi is one of the most favoured hill stations in south Kerala. Agasthyarkoodam, a mountain peak, too, is located nearby.

Trivandrum is well connected by air, rail and road. There are a number of cruise options, too. The airport is only 6km from the city.
